Handcrafted by women from marginalized regions in rural Bangladesh, the fair wages generated through this artisan employment help the maker and her community move from income insecurity to economic self-sufficiencythanks to the efforts of a women-led, women-run members of the World Fair Trade Organization that employs and supports over 2,000 artisans. Because it's a women-led collective, our partner embodies empowerment by placing decision-making directly in the hands of the artisans. This includes providing a social safety net to ensure stability during slower craft order periods.
