With the arrival of the Deetz family who buy the house, the Maitland's try to scare them away from the house. After multiple failed attempts to scare the family away themselves, the couple are forced to call upon Beetlejuice (or Betelgeuse, to be accurate). However, the demon has some odd ways in which he wants to be paid by the Maitland’s including the new family’s daughter. %%%%% The popular 1988 comedy horror Beetlejuice cemented director Tim Burton as the master of gothic comedy. A film where wild and comical ideas could co-exist. The film also cemented Michael Keaton as a comedy actor.
