Echoing the dances of the Maiko (or apprentice) Geisha, these almost 2-foot-high figurines arch in the centuries-old, graceful fan dances favored in western Japan. Oyuki ( Honorable Snow ) beckons with both of her unfolded fans while Teruha ( Shining Leaf ) holds her fan close to her heart.
