This rug is a unique piece of world art that will enhance your living space. Kashan is a historic city in the province of Isfahan. This region is famous for their rug weaving, which goes back to the Safavieh dynasty workshop rugs, that was created in Kashan county. This rug is 100-percent wool and cotton foundation. The pile height is 0.5 inches. The knot count per square inch for this rug is 160. Features: Country: India Knots Per Square Inch (KPSI): 160 Material: 100-percent Hand-Knotted Wool Pile height: 0.5 inches Latex Free Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Ivory Style: Traditional Pattern: Floral Story Behind the Art: The sanction on Iranian imports created an opportunity for weavers in India to reproduce the original designs. For instance, this rug's design is Kashan from Persian influence, yet made by village weavers in Jaipur, India. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vaccumming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported Tip: We recommend the use of a non-skid pad to keep the rug in place on smooth surfaces. All rug sizes are approximate. Due to the difference of monitor colors, some rug colors may vary slightly. We try to represent all rug colors accurately. Please refer to the text above for a description of the colors shown in the photo. Please keep in mind that new wool rugs may initially shed and have a natural capacity to shed for several months after purchase. This is normal due to the nature of construction of most wool rugs and not a defect. Click here to view our Wool Rug Care Guide.
