The design is then physically erased, creating random holes and gaps before handing it to the workshop to begin weaving. This process results in a beautiful rug with a distressed design and no damage from harsh washes that fade dyes. The majority of the weavers are women from the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India, and creating more jobs for female weavers is a key part of our mission.
