Herat Oriental Handmade One-of-a-Kind Heriz Wool Runner
Description
This rug is a unique piece of world art that will enhance your living space. The town of Heriz is known as one of the most significant historical places in the Azerbaijan province. The knot count per square inch for this rug is 150. The pile height is 0.25 inches . Colors include red, black, beige, gold, green and gray. Story Behind the Art: This particular rug was created in the Varanasi region of India, in the Bhadohi village, where weavers re-create the original Heriz design. The symmetric and geometric pattern of the Heriz has been extremely popular in the US and Europe. Since the rugs are tribal, they are made of 100% wool pile and vegetable dyes. Due to the handmade nature of our rugs, the size may vary from as advertised by 3-4 inches. Regular vacuuming and annual professional cleaning will keep your rug looking new for years to come. The majority of the weavers are women, who live in the villages of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. As we grow, we are able to create more jobs for female weavers who otherwise would not have the opportunity to do so. The community also thrives from rug weaving as the local farmers benefit from wool sales, and the local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported
