From shearing, washing, and dyeing to weaving, every step is meticulously done by the village weavers, who are mostly women. By providing jobs for over 2,000 local village weavers, Herat Oriental has been supporting their families for more than 10 years. Furthermore, the community benefits from rug weaving as local farmers raise sheep for wool, and local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs. Imported.
