We updated the base and upper from the previous iteration to help optimize the Air Zoom unit's speed. You also get improved stability and control on both straightaways and turns as you hightail it to the tape. Built for Speed:Lighter and more responsive than the previous version, the carbon fiber Flyplate's shape and stiffness give you a propulsive feel. It helps keep you on your toes and minimize deceleration. Zoom, Zoom:The forefoot Air Zoom unit has two chambers to give you propulsion and stability from takeoff to the tape. Stability for Straightaways:We removed the middle spike from the original Maxfly and elevated the platform on the big-toe side.
