The Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX is the latest innovation in hiking from Merrell. This new and improved generation of hiking shoes pairs the knowledge and trail insights from the best-selling hiking boot, the Moab, with the latest innovations from athletic hikers across the globe.

Designed to provide comfort and protection, the Merrell Moab Speed 2 GORE-TEX Walking Shoes have been constructed using a lightweight Nylon ripstop and TPU upper. The upper works to provide lightweight breathability and durable protection to keep your feet safe on rocky terrains. TPU overlays have been strategically placed on the upper to provide durability and support where it's needed the most. The reinforcements wrap the foot in lightweight support to promote a secure fit that resists the risks of wear and tear. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; it integrates with the mesh upper to supply a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside; keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. By perfectly matching the GORE-TEX membrane to the footwear upper material, wrinkles and folds are eliminated, reducing pressure points and creating a true-to-size forefoot area. A bellows tongue keeps out debris while a protective, abrasion-resistant synthetic heel and toe cap help to keep your feet comfortable and safe from rocks and roots. Dual heel and tongue loops offer ease of entry as well as carabiner compatibility. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system which locks down the midfoot so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

Within the midsole Merrell's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light, durable ride. The midsole ensures ample underfoot cushioning to reduce the impact placed upon the feet on tough trails whilst remaining as lightweight as possible so you'll never feel weighed down. The lightweight midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to prevent discomfort and possible injury. Lightweight FlexPlate technology also resides in the midsole to provide torsional rigidity, lateral stability, and forefoot flexibility and completing the midsole is a Cleansport NXT treatment which helps to prevent the growth of odour-causing bacteria, keeping the shoes fresher for longer.

Developed using a Vibram TC5+ outsole, the Moab Speed provides exceptional traction for outdoor multi-sport activities, formulated exclusively for Merrell. Developed for slippery terrain, the extremely durable rubber can form a solid bond with the ground to anchor you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. Ensuring multi-directional grip, the outsole provides a confident footing on varied terrain thanks to Vibram traction lugs specifically designed to increase traction and shed debris with each step. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain; it works to protect itself from damage and protect users from losing control and slipping.
