Surrounding the upper of the boot, there is a GORE-TEX membrane which will provide durable waterproofing. This will mean that all exposure to wet ground or rain will simply rebound away from the boot, not being able to penetrate through to make the feet feel wet and uncomfortable. In addition to the waterproofing benefits that the GORE-TEX provides, it also allows exceptional ventilation, with warm air able to transfer out of the boot with ease, which is then replaced by cooler air from outside. Extremely firm and strong, the boots will protect the feet from any bumps or knocks. The boots have a protective and abrasion-resistant rubber toe cap keeping your toes safe and your boots in top condition for longer. The heel is held in a secured position, preventing it from moving out of position and causing an injury. Up the foot laces with eyelets, and a padded tongue will ensure that you will always have a comfortable and secure fit. The bellows tongue will keep debris out, preventing dirt from rubbing and causing irritation on the ankle. The upper of the boots have been treated, using Cleansport NXT to prevent odour build-up. NXT antimicrobial agents keep you feeling cooler and fresher for longer; the antimicrobial agents reside in the boot lining and materials preventing sweat and moisture from affecting the freshness of your boot by penetrating and disrupting the reproduction of the odour-causing microbes in your boots.

Within the midsole, Merrell's signature FloatPro Foam has been used to ensure a light, durable ride. The midsole ensures ample underfoot cushioning to reduce the impact placed upon the feet on tough trails whilst remaining as lightweight as possible so you'll never feel weighed down. The lightweight midsole offers supreme cushioning and support to key areas like the arch and heel, holding the foot securely in place for a smoother transition and wear. By supporting these key areas of the foot, the midsole material can also help to offer enough support to help prevent discomfort and possible injury. As well as this, Merrell's signature flexConnect technology has been used within the midsole to ensure enhanced ground connection. FlexConnects dual-directional flex grooves ensure a secure fit as well as a natural and serious grip to deliver agility and stability on any terrain. Featuring in the midsole is a rock plate to provide you with further protection on rocky and uneven surfaces. Completing the midsole is an EVA insole that offers better cushioning, durability and increased breathability underfoot. The soft insole cushions your feet over long distances and increases ventilation to keep you cool when temperatures rise.
