Mesh Upper
Utilising a bootie construction for the upper of the Summit Unknown v3 Trail Shoes, the shoes hug your foot comfortably for a snug, supportive fit. Additionally, the mesh works alongside this to keep feet feeling fresh and cool. Perforations in the synthetic mesh increase airflow to create a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive. The Toe Protect rubber compound wraps the toes to reinforce the shoe's trail-worthy state, increasing its durability and defending feet against roots, rocks and other general hazards. A gusseted tongue helps to keep rocks, dirt and debris out of the shoes, therefore, keeping your feet comfortable. Finally, an adjustable lace closure provides you with an ideally customisable fit, ensuring that feet remain locked in and secure, preventing in-shoe slipping from occurring.
FuelCell MidsoleA FuelCell midsole foam resides through the shoes which were created using real athlete data, to ensure the perfect level of impact, pivot and takeoff was given during each stride. This midsole was designed using approximately 3% bio-based content, which combined with FuelCell delivers a propulsive feel, in order to help drive you forward. Bio-based content is made from renewable resources to help reduce New Balance's carbon footprint.
Hydrohesion Rubber OutsoleWedged between the midsole and outsole of this trail shoe, is a Rock Stop plate. Durable but flexible, it acts as a protective shell. The Rocks Stop works by reducing the pressure of impact on the foot, keeping it safe against jagged, unpredictable terrain and preventing stone bruises and nasty blisters. A Hydrohesion outsole completes the Summit Unknown; the advanced rubber compound supplies sticky grip across watery rocks and slippery trails, striking the perfect balance between grip and durability.
