Novica Handmade Glorious Quetzalcoatl Wood Alebrije Figurine
Description
The Feathered-Serpent deity of ancient Mesoamerican culture, known as Quetzalcoatl, is the protagonist of this exceptional alebrije figurine that pays homage to traditional Mexican folk art in a most exquisite manner. The warm and contrasting hues and intricate motifs that adorn this decorative accent are the inventions of artisans Alejandro and Rocio Jimenez, who also carved this figurine by hand using copal wood, all in a palette of orange and blue hues. We specialize in wood carving and the creation of alebrijes. Our interest in alebrijes began in our childhood, as our grandparents and parents were already skilled in wood carving. What attracts us to being alebrije artists is the magic of what we can create with wood, paints, and brushes. I believe that discipline and perseverance are the pillars that led my wife and me to achieve mastery in the art we practice. Just as I received the teachings, now I share them with my children in the workshop. Our dream is to expand our artisan workshop and showcase our art to the world. The materials I use include copal wood, machetes, knives, sealants, fillers, and acrylic paints. All the inspiration for my pieces comes from my imagination. Starting to work on my own has been a bit difficult, but gradually and with a lot of effort, we are making progress. The handmade touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected. Note: Color discrepancies may occur between this product and your computer screen. Imported"
