Lightweight Upper]
The upper of the Puma evoSPEED Distance Nitro has been created with a lightweight synthetic material that will encase each foot in streamlined comfort. The lightweight structure allows air to flow through it thanks to perforations in the fabric, these create a better, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in. Providing lightweight support the spikes feature Formstrip technology on the lateral side, this adds structure to the shoe whilst reducing movement within, so that you can enjoy smooth, distraction-free strides. In addition, the shoe is infused with lightweight, supportive and breathable carbon fibre threads increasing the durability of the upper. Puma has used a curved and tapered last to encourage you to run on your toes for maximum speed and propulsion.
Nitro Elite Foam MidsoleThe midsole of the evoSPEED Long Distance Nitro Elite 2 has been created using a layer of Puma's most elite foam. This is a nitrogen-infused Peba foam, that is a lightweight and springy foam providing you with high energy return and responsiveness. Infusing nitrogen into the foam Puma has been able to expand their midsoles, by doing so the shoes are extremely comfortable underfoot whilst also providing maximum propulsion with each step, letting you run further and faster with ease. Not only will the foam help propel you forward helping you to hit those PBs but it also absorbs shocks and negative impact forces as you strike the track, by doing so this reduces stress on the joints and the risk of injury. Inside the layer of foam, Puma has introduced a spoon-shaped carbon fibre plate that provides exceptional energy return and torsional rigidity while offering optimal propulsion at toe-off. Finishing the midsole of the long-distance spikes is a lightweight Pebax sockliner, cemented to the strobel board for increased comfort as you run. Six Spike Outsole
Completing the Spikes is a forefoot plate, that includes ridges to increase grip when on the track. The plate's design uses six changeable spike pin receptacles strategically placed for all distance events. A heel pad with dimples improves grip, for multi-surface traction and helps resist the traumas of heel-strike to supply you with a reliable, fast and long-lasting race buddy.
