Good KnightWe think it's high time that all of this knight business got straightened out. Oh, don't worry! We love knights and we have no intentions of undermining their glorious chivalry and skill. Rather, we want to make sure everyone understands: you can't just be a knight. That's right. Even if you have killer manners and a good horse, you can't just walk up to the castle and apply to be a knight. That's not how it works. There's got to be training. Rigorous training. You've got to learn how to take care of the armor. Put on the armor. Take care of the horse. Ride the horse. Polish the weapons. Use the weapons... you get the idea. It takes years of training to make a good knight. As a matter of fact, young knight-wannabes usually started training while they were young. Their role as knight-trainee was so important they had their own title: Squire. That's right, the squire followed their knights around and helped them with everything while learning whatever skills they could so they too could grow up to be fabulous knights.Fun DetailsWhich meant, of course, that these squires should look the part of a spiffy knight-to-be. Anyone you know who wants to become a knight can look spiffy too in this Renaissance Squire Costume. This outfit has a faux suede body vest with gauze shirt sleeves and collar. The top fastens shut with cord lacing at the front. The interlock pants are easy-to-wear with their elastic waistband. Just get your squire a healthy pair of boots and they'll be ready to begin their training!KnightlyOf course, being a squire is not quite as impressive as being a knight, but don't worry! All knights were squires once. We have great confidence that with a bit of effort and elbow-grease, your squire could be the next best knight. We're sure of it.
