Premium silk doesn’t need to be washed after each wear, silks natural qualities as a non-absorbing fabric, means it doesn’t hold on to strong odours. We recommend airing silk garments between wears to ventilate, but avoid hanging in any direct sunlight which could damage the colour. Delicate hand washing is the preferred choice for silk garments, it not only saves on water, but it is also much gentler to the fibre. When handwashing, only use lukewarm water, and gentle detergent or light shampoo. After hand washing, do not wring the garment, try to lay flat on a towel and reshape when wet, or sandwich the garment between two towels and leave to dry flat. If you insist to use a machine, opt for a low spin cycle, use a low temperature, to prevent colour fading and fibre damage. We do not recommend tumble drying silk, it is best to air dry laying flat. Clip hangers & thin wire hangers may leave imprints in the garment. We suggest only ironing on a low temperature or steaming the silk for any stubborn creases.
