William Morris At Home Pimpernel Plum Wallpaper Purple Wallpaper Floral Wallpaper Eco-friendly Wallpaper by Graham & Brown
Description
This hand block printed design features large sensual tulips and their curling leaves, intwined with foliage and small pimpernel flowers. The pattern is a wonderful example of William Morris' sense of humour since on initial inspection your eye is drawn towards the dominating, graphic tulip heads and yet the name of the design is attributed to the secondary floral detail; the smaller Pimpernel flower. The design layout is almost symmetrical and was hung at Kelmscott Manor, the summer home of William Morris in West Oxfordshire. The Gallery's archive includes an original Pimpernel hand block printed wallpaper length. Pimpernel Plum is a beautiful scrolling floral design, with dominating terracotta and grey-beige motifs, enhanced by a rich plum purple backdrop. This matt finish wallpaper would make a statement in any room with it's unique and captivating heritage design. William Morris believed that art should be for the people, by the people. He valued simplicity, utility, and beauty and championed nature as the inspiration for everything. A pioneer of the Arts and Crafts movement, his wallpaper and textile designs remain universally revered. William Morris At Home celebrates and upholds his principles to create beautiful and useful products that are well-crafted and sustainable.
